Introduction

The SSCT-ETS 2005 Conference in Toila, Estonia, entitled „Chemicals, Human & Environment”, will be the 23rd scientific gathering of Scandinavian Society for Cell Toxicology (SSCT) and will be this year organized as a joint meeting of SSCT and Estonian Society of Toxicology (ETS). The previous joint SSCT-ETS Meeting (Tallinn, 1998), attended by 86 participants from 17 countries, was a very successful one.

The scientific programme of SSCT-ETS 2005 unifies the scientific interests of our two Societies and has following sessions:

• NEUROTOXICOLOGY IN VITRO
• NOVEL IN VITRO METHODS IN BIOANALYSIS
• ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION & EXOTOCICOLOGY
• ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION & RISK TO HUMANS
• RESEARCH & EDUCATION IN ESTONIA

Hopefully you will all find something interesting in the programme. As by September 19, 78 participants from 17 countries have registered. Thus, we are expecting a really international forum.
